It’s about nineteenth

It’s about nineteenth

            15 Desember 2011, 19 tahun sudah aku hidup didunia ini. Selama Sembilan belas tahun ini banyak kisah dan cerita yang aku hadapi. Baik itu yang mengembirakan, menyedihkan, mengharukan,bahkan yang memalukan.
            15 Desember 1992, serba pertama. Pada hari tersebut, hari selasa sekitar pukul 4 pagi, aku yang merupakan anak pertama keluarga inipun untuk pertama kalinya menghembuskan nafas kedunia ini. Pada hari itu juga untuk pertama kalinya aku menangis. Pada hari itu aku diperkenalkan kepada dua orang yang sangat menyayangiku sampai saat ini. Lima setengah tahun kemudian, untuk pertama kalinya aku merasakan sekolah. Setahun kemudian aku mendapatkan PR pertamaku, kelas 1 SD. Masih bisa kubayangkan betapa senangnya mendapat PR itu, hahaha padahal ditahun-tahun selanjutnya PR itu membunuhku. Saat duduk dikelas 2 SD, seorang adik laki-laki yang nakalpun lahir. 17 tahun setelah kelahiranku, aku mendapatkan motor dan SIM pertamaku, setahun kemudian mendapatkan KTP.

            Desember memang kelabu, hujan memang sudah mengguyur kota Padang bahkan sebelum aku membuka mata pagi itu, 15 Desember 2011. Ya, today is my birthday :D. I’am 19^th years old now. Memang sudah banyak teman-teman yang mengucapkan “Happy Birthday” melalui sms bahkan sesaat setelah jarum jam beranjak dari angka 12. Thanks Friends :D. Setelah shalat shubuh, langsung saja aku buka notebook. Buka akun facebook dan ternyata sudah banyak ucapan – ucapan. Sambil tersenyum, kubaca, balas dan like satu persatu ucapan mereka. Dari pagi sampai malam ucapan silih berganti dari teman-teman kuliah, SMA, SMP, bahkan ada dari teman-teman SD, thanks a million guys. Dan setelah membaca semua itu, satu kesimpulan bias kuambil. “Mereka semua minta TRAKTIRAN ==” beuuuhh”. But thanks friends, telah mendoakan yang baik-baik untuk saya :)

You Have to Have Friends

How do you choose your friends? What qualities do you look for in a friend?

People use the word “friend” in a variety of ways. A friend can mean anything from a casual acquaintance to someone you’ve known your whole life. Whoever they are, friends are an important part of life at every stage. They provide companionship and emotional support. Of all our relationship, friendships are the most voluntary. We choose our friends.

Making new friends

It’s easy to stay in the circle of friends you’re comfortable with. But as you get older, friendships may be lost – people move away or you just lose track of them. Building friendships is a lifelong but worthwhile, job. New friendships can bring opportunities to experience new things.

A few pointers for making new friends :

·        Reach out to others. Try to be open to new experiences and relationships

·        Participate in classes, clubs or volunteer organizations. These activities will bring you into contact with people who share similar interests.

·        Stick with it – even if you feel uncomfortable. It takes time to built friendships.

Keeping friends

Whether friendships are old or new, you can’t neglect them if you want them to last. Even though it’s sometimes hard to spend time together, it’s important to keep in touch. Two other keys are flexibility and respect. Be understanding when plans change. If you find yourselves fighting, try to look at things from the other person’s point of view.

Some tips for keeping friends :

·        Be a good listener. Don’t be judge mental and don’t offer advice unless you’re asked.

·        Respect the other person’s opinion, even when you don’t agree.

·        Never break a confidence. Your friends need to know they can trust you .

·        Be supportive of your friends. It’s important to love them despite their faults!

I Hope... (A Letter From Mom and Dad)

My child,
When I get old,
I hope you understand and have patience with me
In case I break a plate,
Or spill soup on the table because I'm loosing my eyesight,
I hope you don't yell at me
Older people are sensitive.
Always having self pity when you yell
When my hearing gets worse and I can't hear what you're saying,
I hope you don't call me "Deaf!"
Please repeat what you said or write it down

I'm getting older
When my knees get weaker,
I hope you have the patience to help me get up
Like how I used to help you while you were little,

When I keep repeating my self like a broken record,

I smell like an old person
Please don't force to shower
My body is weak
Old people get sick easily when they're cold.
I hope I don't gross you out.

I used to chase you around because you didn't want to shower
I hope you can be patient with me
When I'm always cranky
It's all part of getting old
You'll understand when you're older

Even for a few minutes
I'm always all by my self all the time

Even if you're not interested in my stories,

I used to listen to your stories about your teddy bear.

And I get ill and bedridden,

If I accidentally wet the bed or make a mess

The way I improve my English Skill

I read new vocabularies and I tried to memorize it. It is useful because I can improve my vocabularies and I think this way can improve my English Skill.

I watched movie. The title was Detective Conan : Murderer Kudou Shinichi. I watched it with English subtitle. I tried to understand the subtitle. This way is useful to improve my English skill.

Sunday, October 2^nd 2011

I played the IC’s audio CD. I listened to the conversations in IC’s book. I tried to practice it. It is useful. I can improve my pronunciation.    

Monday, October 3^rd  2011

I listened to music. The song is Lucky from Jason Mraz. I tried to write down the song lyric and compare it with lyric from the Internet. Sometimes this way is useful because I can improve my vocabularies. But in other hand, it isn’t useful because I had several mistake with the lyric.

Tuesday, October 4^th 2011

I sent SMS to my friend. I used English. I think this way is not useful because sometimes my friend replied it in Bahasa. Sometimes I used incorrect sentence or structure.

Wednesday, October 5^th 2011

I watched several English video. I watched it without subtitle. I tried to understand what they were talking about. And I understood what they were talking about. It is useful because I can improve my English skill from the videos.

                                    I went to Gramedia and I found the English version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone novel. I read the chapter 1 of the book. I tried to understand it. I found some difficult wordI think it is useful because I can improve my vocabularies and my English skill.
